Hampton Court Palace

Set off from Kingston Upon Thames this morning and found moorings (plenty) outside Hampton Court Palace. We were not sure if we would get moored here as on the previous days we had heard people saying that it was extremely busy here, but heyho we made it ok.
Arrived about 12.00 p.m and toured the palace and grounds, including the maze! We only got lost a few times!

I found a plaque on the front gate post referring to Thomas Dunkerley (obviously an ancestor of James's) who along with William IV, established a Masonic Lodge of Harmony 255 in 1785 at The Toy Inn - An Ancient Hostel of Note, on the site of the now gates into Hampton Court Palace. Hobnobbing it with royalty then James, where did it all go wrong!

Checked out the lock above - Moseley Lock where we will use the services and then onto Sunbury On Thames tomorrow to meet up with Den, an old family friend of Andy's.
